I felt I didn't have my finger on the pulse of my own business because I couldn't access my accounting software without constantly contacting my bookkeeper. 


I felt out of touch and therefore I didn't always know where I was at come tax season.  I couldn't plan - I wasn't sure where I was at each month and yet I didn't really realize that I was not in control. 


In addition, I didn't have a system in place for tracking staff hours and it took me ages to organize the payroll.  I also lacked guidance regarding my personal finances and my business finances and the best path with each. 


I also didn't have a great invoicing system in place and it took me quite a while to get invoices sorted.  In short, I spent too much time in the office each week and once tax season hit, I absolutely dreaded going to the accountant.
